Power Generating Floors – A new renewable resource.

Technologies are reaching its peak. Due to the growing needs of the people, innovations are still in its fast track. Tossing to the other side the resources are depreciating. Developments of renewable resources are increasing to gear up with those fast growing innovations. One such revolutionized resource generation is the Power Generating Floors being introduced by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The system consists of piezoelectric elements fixed at the floors of the railway station. The power is generated when people passes through the piezoelectric floor. The company has installed the system for testing and the testing is said to continue till February 2009. This Power Generating Floor is anticipated to produce 1400kW/sec per day of power. This energy generated is planned to power all the automatic gadgets like ticket gates in the station in future. These mechanisms surely promise the future with everlasting abundant resources.

The main feature of this touch screen system is its extra levels of security .There are many such models like GoPal P5235, P5435 and X5535, which each boast a 5-inch touch screen display, voice recognition, and live traffic updates, plus a nearly identical appearance5235 model enhances the system with Bluetooth hands free calling while the latest model X5535 has a built-in gyrometer that aids in picking signals when the GPS signals fade or drop out. There is no exact mention about the price or date of release of the product .The model just looks to awesome. Just be ready to position yourself by just a gentle touch.

Melting Ice fights against warming

The melting of Antarctic ice due to global warming is expected to cause opposing effects in changing the global environment. But recent researches show that these help in winning the battle against increasing carbon emissions. When the ice sheets break off, they almost cover the continent. The floating ice bergs scoop out the minerals from the rock bed as they make their way from the sea. The accumulated frozen mud breathes out life, triggering natural removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. As the temperature rises, it causes the ice sheets to break up faster. This creates more ice bergs and the amount of carbon dioxide removed also rises. This doesn’t happen in a short span but might buy us sometime to solve the problem. As the icebergs drift northwards, they pepper the minerals through the ocean. The minerals include iron compounds that help in large growth of plankton, which take in carbon dioxide. Antarctic icebergs have already deposited up to 120,000 tonnes of this “bio-iron” into the southern ocean every year. This is found to be enough to grow plankton to remove 2.6 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to the annual carbon emission of India and Japan.

RAM's-SD to DDR3

For the past ten years, the size of RAM’s has been consistently increasing. The days when we used 4MB RAM’s are gone, and we are witnessing the advent of RAM’s of several GB’s. The latest RAM’s out in the market are around 2 or 4 GB’s. From the DRAM’s , SDRAM’s, several generations of RAM’s have evolved to the latest DDR2, DDR3 versions. Hynix-made DDR3 DIMMs packing a whooping 16GB of memory were reportedly created via the MetaRAM method. The demo system included no fewer than ten of these modules. That means the machine possessed an unbelievable 160GB of RAM. Still, these RAM’s will mostly be used for research and security purposes and will take some time to reach the consumer market.

Something about UNIX

Origin of UNIX dates to somewhere around the late 1960s and early 1970s. UNIX was a brain child of Jenn Thomson of Bell Laboratories. Unix is actually a set of ideas. Before the advent of UNIX, operating systems did not emphasize on the importance of file sharing. UNIX was the first of its kind to introduce the concept of file sharing and network security. When computers were connected together, security and authenticity were the main goal for the system developers. This has been possible because of the Shell programming concept used in UNIX. For years from now, software developers will make use of the powerful concepts of UNIX in developing various softwares, which is very much visible from the success of Jave, .NET,etc.

High Speed Driver Controller

I am really fed up with my internal drive’s speed to transfer files. At least now, there is good news, not only for me, but for the PC users who are crazy about rapid transfers. Barefoot solid state drive controller, a product of Indilinx, has been reported to show an excellent speed of 230MB per second. In only a few days, it is preparing for a third generation of the controller for SATA 3 interface. While even the fastest conventional hard disk drives can barely saturate the original SATA 1.5 Gbit/s bandwidth, Solid State Disk drives have already saturated the SATA 3 Gbit/s limit at 250 MB/s net read speed. Ten channels of fast flash can reach well over 500 MB/s with new ONFI drives, so a move from SATA 3 Gbit/s to SATA 6 Gbit/s would benefit the flash read speeds. As for the standard hard disks, the reads from their built-in DRAM cache will end up faster across the new interface. Seagate was the first company to offer SATA 6 Gbit/s hard drives.

The proposed version is supposed to provide a whooping speed of 600MB per second.
